Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using RevsGaming ("the application", "the software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any of these terms, you must not use the application.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RevsGaming with respect to the use of the application. RevsGaming reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
Permitted use
RevsGaming is designed for personal, non-commercial use. You may use the application to:
- Play your own legal ROMs: games you own in physical format or that you have a legal right to use in digital format.
- Use netplay features: connect with other players for multiplayer sessions through RevsGaming servers, using the integrated emulators (RetroArch, Mednafen).
- Sync your saves: use the Cloud Saves feature to back up and restore your save files across devices.
- Share your game status: use the friends system and real-time presence with users you trust.
Prohibited use
It is strictly prohibited to use RevsGaming to:
- Distribute copyrighted ROMs: share, distribute, or facilitate the distribution of copyright-protected game files through or in connection with the platform.
- Cheat in online play: use cheat software, modify game memory during netplay sessions, or engage in any practice that alters the outcome of multiplayer matches without authorization.
- Reverse-engineer servers: reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to obtain the source code of RevsGaming's MITM servers or backend infrastructure.
- Abuse the infrastructure: overload, attack, or disrupt the netplay servers or Supabase services used by the application.
- Unauthorized commercial use: sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the application or its features without explicit authorization.
- Impersonate others: impersonate another user, the RevsGaming team, or any other person within the platform.
ROMs and BIOS
RevsGaming is an emulator launcher. Regarding game files and BIOS, please note the following:
- RevsGaming does NOT distribute ROMs: the application does not include, download, or facilitate the acquisition of game files (.cue, .bin, .iso, etc.). The user is solely responsible for providing game files and for their legality.
- RevsGaming does NOT distribute copyrighted BIOS: the PS1 BIOS that the application can download automatically comes from a URL configured by the platform administrator. The administrator is responsible for ensuring that URL points to a legally available resource.
- User responsibility: by adding game files to your RevsGaming library, you confirm that you have the legal right to use those files in your jurisdiction. RevsGaming does not and cannot verify the legality of your files.
- Homebrew and public domain: use of RevsGaming with homebrew games, free official demos, and public domain titles is permitted and encouraged.
User accounts
When you create a RevsGaming account:
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials (email and password) confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must notify any unauthorized use of your account as soon as possible at jnntnzegarra369@gmail.com.
- You must not share your account with others.
You may request deletion of your account at any time by writing to us at:
Deletion will include your email, username, and all save files stored in Supabase Storage.
RevsGaming reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice and without obligation to provide a refund.
Service availability
This means:
- Access may be restricted at any time via the
beta_openparameter controlled from Supabase, without prior notice. - Features may be added, modified, or removed between versions without any guarantee of backward compatibility.
- The netplay servers and MITM relay server may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or other reasons.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service or online features.
Limitation of liability
RevsGaming is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- RevsGaming shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the application.
- We are not liable for loss of save data, although we implement measures to prevent it.
- We are not responsible for the content of ROMs or BIOS that the user chooses to use with the application.
- We are not responsible for the actions of other users in the netplay or friends system.
Intellectual property
Regarding the intellectual property involved in RevsGaming:
- RevsGaming: the name "RevsGaming", the logo, and the source code of the Electron application (launcher, friends system, cloud saves, interface) are the property of RevsGaming. All rights reserved.
- RetroArch: RetroArch is an independent open-source project under the GPLv3 license, developed by Libretro. RevsGaming uses it as the backend emulator but makes no ownership claim over it. More information at retroarch.com.
- Mednafen: Mednafen is an independent open-source emulator under the GPLv2 license. RevsGaming integrates it for 2-player PS1 netplay but makes no ownership claim over it. More information at mednafen.github.io.
- Video game trademarks: the console and game names mentioned in RevsGaming (PlayStation, Nintendo, SEGA, etc.) are registered trademarks of their respective owners. RevsGaming has no affiliation with those companies.
Changes to these terms
RevsGaming may update these Terms of Service at any time. When significant changes are made:
- The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be updated.
- A notification will be shown within the application informing you of the changes.
- For major changes, notification will be provided within the application.
Continued use of RevsGaming after the updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of those changes. If you disagree with the new terms, you must stop using the application.
